I purchased the Nuvi 255 as a replacement for my nuvi 350.
There is nothing wrong with the 350. The Garmin Nuvi 255 has
safety features I want which include "Where Am I" that gives your location by street address, city, state, zip code,
nearest intersection and coordinates. This is important in an emergency in a strange and/or unfamiliar location. Another
safety feature is the display of the posted speed limit directly above your actual speed. This helps to avoid tickets
and reminds one about safe driving.

The Garmin Nuvi 255 is intuitive and simple to use. Navigating through the user friendly customizable settings is intuitive; reading the manual isn't typically required. Finding a destination is simple too. When typing an address, the Nuvi 255 provides options to ensure accurate spellings and make entry quick. The user can continue typing or select any of the provided options. While traveling to your destination, secondary stops can be added too.

This GPS is very easy to use and it's not hard to figure out the settings. It recalculated very fast if you make a wrong turn and it's good at picking out detours. This is my first GPS and I like it very much. It is small but it's not complicated at all which is very helpful especially if it's your first GPS.

This 255 Nuvi replaced my 260 Nuvi mainly to get the new updated map and POI's. It is a nice little gps that can be slipped into my shirt pocket when I leave the vehicle and used when sight seeing walking, especially to find your way back to vehicle. Hint: I glued a small grey patch of Velcro (loop-the soft side) onto the vehicle dash which matches dash color and the matching Velcro patch (hook) onto the back of the gps. This makes for easy mounting and removal and keeps prying eyes from noticing you may have a gps in vehicle.
